Perth Kitesurfing School have one of the best locations in Australia; Woodman Point. This is a protected bay on the coast with shallow, calm waters and the safest and most consistent wind a learner could ever hope for.
We teach on the southern side of Woodman Point, where consistent, onshore breezes and student safety are guaranteed. There’s so much space where we teach, and as a beginner you will feel safe and comfortable in the hands of our experienced instructors.
Because our location is on the ocean, the winds are far more consistent and less gusty than on the Swan River. This is because the wind doesn’t have to travel over the land, so there isn’t any interference or turbulence created. We used to teach on the Swan River but found that it was too busy, too gusty and too intimidating for beginners.
The northern side is famous for its amazing flat-water conditions, but it’s not for beginners, as the northern side of Woodman Point has offshore winds. It’s a great spot to watch talented kite surfers showing off their moves!

DIRECTIONS
From the Freeway, travelling north or south.
You need to take the Beeliar Drive Exit. If you are travelling north on the freeway this will be exiting left onto Beeliar Drive. If you are travelling south on the freeway you will be exiting right onto Beeliar Drive
You will continue along Beeliar Drive until it becomes Mayor Road (This road can be seen in the map above). Continue along Mayor Road until it ends and you reach Cockburn Road, where you need to turn left. You will pass a sign that says “Woodman Point Regional Park”, do not turn right here, but continue until you reach O’Kane Court. You must take a right turn here.
Once you’re on O’Kane Court take your first left, then first right onto Woodman Point View. Continue along this road until you reach a fork in the road. On your right you should see a small carpark, with a gate and a sign that says ‘Pumping statio’. You need to take the road to your left, and we operate out of our van in the first carpark you’ll see. Please allow plenty of time to arrive to your lesson, and call us if you are having any trouble finding us.
From Fremantle or Rockingham, travelling along the coast.
If you are coming from Fremantle, you need to get onto Hampton Road. Hampton Road becomes Cockburn Road, and then you need to turn right onto O’Kane Court, then follow the directions below.
If you are travelling from Rockingham but not on the freeway, take Rockingham Road until you can exit left onto Russel Road. Russel Road becomes Cockburn Road and then you will be turning left onto O’Kane Court.
Once you’re on O’Kane Court take your first left, then first right onto Woodman Point View. Continue along this road until you reach a fork in the road. On your right you should see a small carpark, with a gate and a sign that says ‘Pumping station’. You need to take the road to your left, and we operate out of our lessons van in the first carpark you’ll see.
